Here are some links to the farm that Jack came from:
Extreme Farming in the Yukon
Wheaton River Garden
We had a great time at the alpaca farm fair afterwards, and came home with a pair of alpaca wool socks, and a bag of wool for felting. Oh, and Colin came home with some alpaca spit on his sunglasses- one of the girls took a disliking to him, and made it known quickly!
While we lost a pig this afternoon, one of us gained a job... Colin was offered another casual job at the Mt Lorne Transformation Station (previously known as the dump), to cover for when the regular staff are away. It will probably not start until next year, which works out well, because Colin is busy enough with working at the fish hatchery, the community centre and doing his hunting/firearms safety course. His days as a house-husband are sadly over.
Cookie and Smiley seem happy to regain the position as the only non-humans living here. The are spending a lot less time sitting at their fence beside the pig pen/garden, staring at the intruder. Cookie took the first chance she could get this afternoon after Jack left, and busted through Colin's legs when he went in for a pet. She raced around the house a few times, then made a beeline for the pigpen and sniffed and sniffed and sniffed. We could hardly blame her, but when we finally caught her, we had to pretend to be mad so that she would not try to get loose again.
Bye for now,
Love Lauren and Colin
